I don't like Cricket.......I Love it. - By: Mr. L. A. Okeefe, 24 Aug 2010
Like most other reviews of this game I think it is an excellent game with only one or two minor issues. Firstly the game is really playable my flatmate & I have played for over 14 hours none stop when we first got the game, the batting & the bowling are both good. It is not excatly like playing cricket because after all this is a game & not a high end bowiling simulator, if it were too reaisitc a novice would never have a go at playing it because it would be too hard to bat & when you came to bowilng you would get smashed all over the ground. So i think that the game is aimed at just the right level for your average Wii owner to pick up a copy of the game & play it straight away. In fact a friend of ours who had no real love of cricket played the game for a few hours when he came round & now has brought a Wii & this game & joined our cricket club too.
However that said there are one or two minor issues, firstly & i think most importantly the feilding can be awful. The ball can land within two foot of a fielder & he wont move towards it instead another fielder will run to pick it up even though they are miles away from the ball, & this happends to every player reguardless of how good a fielder they arein real life.
Secondly the graphics are a bit poor, this is not a huge issue as the are not rubbish but they could be better.
Third there is no edit faciltity so you can not update teams & change players or as most people would include your selfin the lineup.
Fourth there are too few locations to play at there are 5 English grounds ( those from the 2009 Ashes Cardiff, Lords, Edgbaston, Headingley & the Oval ) but no Old Trafford or Tent Bridge plus there are not 5 Aussie grounds to play a return serris, not that this matter much because the ground does not seem to have any effect on the game either by the support of the crowd or the was the ball comes off the track.
Lastley I have also noticed that the skill of the batsman or bowlerin real life orin the game has little bearing on the game. I have manged to bowl India out for less than 200 using only Andrew Strauss,Alastair Cook & Michael Vaughan as bowlers ( what can I say I was boared & thought I would try using 3 batsman to bowl with)
Althought I have listed five issues with the game none of these really matter they are not what is wrong with the game just some things that I would improve/ hope will be imporved for the next game ( if it ever comes out on the Wii)
This game is brilliant, very playable & addictive it can be easy to beat the computer however palying gainst another person is has played the game a lot too makes it very challenging indeed this is the same with all sports games. This is one of the best games I have played on the Wii a must for anyone who has ever paid an interestin cricket.
Worst Cricket Game Ever - By: matt94, 10 Jul 2010
I have traded this gamein & I really do think it is the worst cricket game I have ever played on. It is far too easy & not realistic, with both sides smashing it from ball one, going at more than 10 runs per overin a test match. I don't think that codemasters have made any progress here. I was really looking forward to a cricket game finally coming out on Wii, but this has been a really shocking effort.
EA Sports made much better games & I only bought this one because EA Sports haven't made a cricket game on Wii yet, although I hope they do soon.
Made a start, got out quickly - By: Dazz, 10 May 2010
I eagerly bought this game as I was really looking forward to a cricket game on the wii, because, let's face it, the wii controls lend themselves perfectly to a cricket game.
However I was a bit disapointed. Not with the graphics or even the game play, as someone else mentioned it would be amost impossible to realisticly bat & bowl through a whole test match. My gripe with it was how repetetive it became. You can literally play through a whole test match doing nothing more than flicking your wrist down to bowl & up to bat.
Once you know where to bowl to get a wicket you'll get one pretty much all the time. The field settings don't tend to make too much difference to the result. When it comes to batting its very hit or miss (excuse he pun). You can either play safe & go for singles & twos all the time or you can go for the big hits & have four out of five go for six & the other get caught.
Allin all its a decent first attempt at a cricket game for the wii, but it suffers from the same flaws Brian Lara Cricket suffered from on the PS1 all those years ago. The occasional odd decision from the opposition, dodgy run outs & lbw's, no real consistency while batting & bowling & generally being a little too easy & repetetive

Being avid cricket fans, my kids love it. The abnormal run rate may be the down side.
