Good Game - By: Mrs. J. Answer, 30 Aug 2010
I loved this game, just having played the Professor Layton games I was looking for something similar, this is so different & i thoroughly enjoyed the linkage between the two characters. The game takes you from country to country finding the clues, the animation is good & keeps your attention. Highly recommended.
It's...an okay game. - By: Emily (13), 17 Aug 2010
I'm a 13 year old girl, & when my dad got this game for me i wasn't sure if it would be my thing. But a few daysin I was addicted! It starts off when a journalist (Niko Collard) finds a famous man deadin his house, & a mysterious french mime creeping out the window. Niko (who you play) has to interview different people about his death & search around multiple locations to find clues. Along the way a sinister plot is uncovered, & more people die, who Niko finds arein some way linked to the first man (can't remember his name though). Then at the scene of an explosionin a cafe, Niko meets George, an american on holiday, who you switch to playing, & also have to start uncovering the mystery. You & Niko work together, & discover secrets about The Kinghts Templar, an ancient group who the mime was trying to destroy. The idea of the game is well thought out, the graphics are nice, with a cartoony style for the characters, but there are a few bad things I need to point out. First, the game is very short, I played it most days for a week & finished it within that time. Also, the plot is interesting but can get very complicated & trails off the main plot, kind of leaving behind the mime murders & focusing on the knights templar instead. Finally, there is a lot of diologue which a slow reader could find annoying & it gets very boring after a while, for a game thats meant to be action packed. And to be honest, you don't feel satisfied with the ending, because you never actually find out who the mime is, & the reason why he killed all those people isn't made very clear. I'm sure this would be a brilliant game for anyone a bit older, but the 12 + rating isn't really right. Not because of the violence, simply because its so tricky!!
So if you want an exciting murder mystery game, look for another choice, because this game is more about the Knights Templar history than a deadly killer. You can buy it, play it, enjoy for a bit, but that's all. Not much fun to have.
mysterious, sweet smart and funny! And classic! - By: kotkingr, 18 Jul 2010
One of the best videogames ever created! So well written! The DS version is very good, with nice graphics & additions! If you haven't try it yet you have to play it. A true classic!
Broken Sword-Shadow of the Templars - By: NAP, 04 Jul 2010
I amin the over 60's age group, & I enjoyed this game, very easy to play & when I was stuck, I went on the internet & looked on a Walkthrough for clues.
Very easy to understand, & play.
Before I bought this game I looked for other peoples reviews, which is important, when selecting a game.
Buying from Amazon is a lot cheaper than going into a shop.
Love this!! - By: nattyloo, 21 May 2010
After reading the reviews on Amazon i was expecting great gaming & this, so far, has not disappointed me. The greatest plus for me has been that I haven't had to cheat, i'm terrible when it comes to the cop out of the walkthrough! The puzzles are not exactly brain straining, having said that i'm a bit stuck at the moment, but for me that is actually a bonus! No silly, obscure pairings of stuffin your inventory, just a bit of proper mystery solving! Far more satisfying than some of the games i've played on DS & PC!
It is a very wordy game, you have to read all of it, but some of it is very funny (funnier than all of the games i've played!) & it adds to the concentration required to play the story of the game.
It only loses a star for me because some of the puzzles could have been a bit more tricky! And the hints are way too easy to get!
