Lego does the dark knight! Fantastic! - By: K. D. Squire, 10 Nov 2008
Not for jumping on the band wagon, Lego has made a fantastic new addition dedicated to the various Batman Adventures. Im a big fan of the films & this game is just a great! All the baddies, all the gadgets & a bat cave to run around in!

You have the choice, Be a hero or Be a villian, wellin order to play the game to the full your gonna have to do both but who wouldnt! The game play is fantastic, each character has varying abilities which aidin your pusuit of glory.

Its addictive though, the gameplay like most lego games is fantastic, theres mini-gamesin addition to the main games, the levels are colourful & are challenging enough to get your brain working as well as your thumbs!

The game has just the one downside: like most lego games its a side on camera view which makes climbing some ladders or manuvering vehicles a bit more challenging than they should be but other than that its a fantastic game!

Brilliant!! Lego just cant do wrong! - By: Stevie G, 26 Oct 2008
Despite the Lego games being aimed at children, the Star Wars & Indiana Jones games brought out nostalgiain fully grown adults. Its cheeky recreation of classic scenes, combined with the universal appeal of Lego, made this franchise a winner.

Although previous games were good, at times the most memorable moments were the cut scenes. Lego Batman doesn't follow any specific film or timelinein the series, instead capturing as many elements as possible, from the camp 1960s iteration, through to the latest Dark Knight.
This is mostly done by suits located throughout stages, granting special powers to Batman or Robin, often linked to a specific puzzle.

The plot involves Batman's enemies escaping from Arkham Asylum. Developer Travellers Tales has included as many of these as possible; from classic villain's Joker & Penguin to the more random Clayface or Mad Hatter.
This gives lots of variety when playing Free Play, as many characters have powers specifically linked to them. With Star Wars & Indy, there were only a handful of characters that made a difference to gameplay. Here, theres a much, much wider selection.

The emphasis is still on building & collecting studs, but playing completed levels from the villain's perspective is a great addition, & works excellently.
The graphics are cute & shiny, exactly as a Lego game should be, & absolutely glowsin 1080p.
In my opinion, the best Lego game so far.
Lego games back on track with Batman - By: Paul Talbot, 17 Oct 2008
Now , i had massive expectatinons for Indiana Jones when that game came out - not literally you understand - after the sheer fun & quality of Star Wars 2, so as you can imagine like a lot of other people i was rather underwhelmed by the game, just a bit to easy for long term gamers like me, i know its not aimed at me but i still enjoy well crafted & thought out games ala the Star Wars games, so i found this a massive dissapointment, it was too short - i finished itin 5 days - & not all that indepth, soin short this new game has a lot to live uptoin my eyes. Well all i can say after a week of owning this game is wow. This is so much better than Indiana on so many levels, the level designs are gorgeous, the feel of the game & the balance are spot on & its incredible addictive, you just want to get 100% from the moment you pick up the controller. The replay value here is much more than Indiana & up there with Star Wars 2, you need to go through a level at least 3 times to make sure you find everything, this one has had me scratching my head a few times already trying to find those little power bricks. Just a mention about the music too, its perfect just like watching Batman from 1989 with Michael & Jack. Now all we need is for Lego to release Batman Begins & The Dark Knight as downloadable extra level through the PS3 store & your sorted, just imagine another 20 levels as both Batman & the Scarecrow & The Joker, perfect.
Batastic Batman!! - By: Lee J. Collins, 17 Oct 2008

Bat-Tastic! - By: Mr. P. Gouhar, 15 Oct 2008
I am work right now & seriously considering buying the game on PSP aswell so I can play itin my office tomorrow. This game is so much fun & so addictive. The Bat Cave is just a great little mini gamein itself & as for the main game... better than any previous Lego game, & thats saying something I can tell you!
Often hilarious, often exciting & often pure genius. It soon becomes clear how well thought out each level is. There are many little treats to unlock & many levels require you to go back as another character with various abilitys or as Batman himself with one of the many cool gadget suits you onlock as you play through the game. This enables you to reach previously unreachable areas. So theres lots & lots of replayabily.
The care & attention to detail is amazing. The game seems to be based more on the superb 90's cartoon series & it's obvious that the devolpers were massive fans of that show... Just like me ;0)
Adults can safely pass a controller to one of their kids & have a great time together. Dad can solve the puzzles while junior beats up the bag guys. ZAP! POW!
