What ever you do, dont buy second hand - By: vincent Trussell, 03 Nov 2008
So I made the big mistake of buying this game used, Which you should never ever do as I found out the hard way, yes the cd key works to install the game but you cant register it or use the online mode as the cd key can only be used once to create a master account,

Also this game wouldn't even play on my computer at uni because it needs an internet connection just to load to play offline, is just moronic & I wont be buying an EA game ever again
Excellent Game - Why One Star just for copy protection? - By: T. Coe, 28 Oct 2008
Yes, if you are a serial pirate you will hate this game as you need to activate the game using the disc etc but once you are past that, you are away & playing one of the best Fifa games to date.

I have played the Wii version & seen the 360 version, both have far inferior graphics to the PC version, although the Wii version is incredibly smooth to play.

The Be a Pro Mode is great although slightly different to the Xbox 360 version as you start automaticallyin the first team making it a lot easier. Manager mode is incredibly smooth & easy to play as are the challenges.

I don't have any FPS problems or any glitches to date. It's a seriously good game & plays even better with a 360 controller although, to be fair the mouse & keyboard combo is incredibly easy to use.

I was amazed with the graphics when I saw them, especially after seeing the other two first. I would imagine the PS3 is very similar to the PC.
Fifa 09 on top again - By: S. Gateson, 27 Oct 2008
Whilst this is getting mixed opinions, let me share some of my own.
* Fifa 09 PC is a far better improvement than 08, they even made the little changes such as a nice looking menu & got rid of the appauling flash application for online mode.

* I will have to admit that there is a slight fps problem with high spec machines & for some reason it stutters during play but i have been told a patch will be out soon to fix this.

* The reason i write this review today is because people are quick to ruin PC versions when yesterday i played the PS3 version & all though the graphics are great the gameplay is shocking, the players move like robots & doesn't play like a real match. The worst was when running they seem to turnin right angles like robots no fluent movement at all.

If you are thinking about purchasing this game then stop thinking & do it!
You will not be disappointed if you are a true football fan.

It's not that bad - By: Ms. K. Roberts, 16 Oct 2008
Ok, lets ignore the DRM issue for a bit,
I've been playing FIFA 09 for about a week now.
So far, all I have done is played Manager Mode, which is likein FIFA 08, but polished up a bit, better graphics, smoother gameplay etc.
Yes, people have said about the physics of the game aren't as good as on the 360 or PS3, which is well & good complaining about, if you've got a 360 or PS3, but I find it is still good enough on a pc.
On 09, you can use your mouse as a control, to point, pass, & shoot, which is fair brilliant (once you've got used to it) I've found it helps make your shots & slide tackles a lot more accurate, pr you could use a game pad, or the old keyboard method.

But, to put it quite simply, if you liked 08 & your thinking about buying this one, do it.

The Jury Is Out (For The Time Being) - By: Mr. S. Frost, 16 Oct 2008
I'm not sure if these reviews have been written before playing the official release or after playing the demo which after downloading & installing is a very basic demo at least with no sound & a few bugs such as no tackle button & the 3D grass is very GREENin deed. I had to turn the resolution down which made the game run a bit smoother. I played Chelsea v Toronto on the demo & won easily which is always a good start for me.

I'm waiting to see a few more reviews before I decided whether to buy or not. I am not too bothered about DRM as I use other software on my PC which is copyright protected.
