Disappointingly Limited - By: A. Reed, 25 Sep 2008
Perhaps I was wrong to expect more from it, but it seemed like there just weren't enough new itemsin this pack to justify the cost. Colour options are quite limited, so you can't always get the shape of sofa you like, for example, to match the coloursin the rest of the room, & a lot of the things that I've seen at Ikea & would want to have appearedin the game weren't included. I think they picked the most popular Ikea products, & though I find it funny that the sims can now have a bookshelf identical to mine, there's not much variety, & the designs chosen are mostly the simpler, boxy ones, rather than anything more daring. Although it's called 'Home stuff', you basically get items for a few styles of living room, study & bedroom - there's nothing for the bathroom or kitchen (so maxis can make more money from another stuff pack, I assume) & so you can't make your whole housein a matching style. The pack could easily have included more (like a kitchen set, or some of the ikea kids' stuff) that would have made the pack more worthwhile to me. The objects are cheap in-game, but not so good at satisfying motives, so the actual sims react badly when you buy them, & fortune sims want it replaced with more expensive stuff that would mess up your carefully planned ikea decor. On the plus side, it comes with two premade houses - good if you're feeling too lazy to furnish one, but nothing amazing - & there's plenty for if you want minimalism or a trendy office. However, I got this cheaply from a friend, & I'm glad that I didn't buy it new, because I think I would have been disappointed at the amount I paid for it. With the variety of user-made objects available online for free, you can easily get item sets more interesting than this without the price tag.
Not as great as you'd think - By: Angel of Nine, 19 Sep 2008
I thought the Ikea pack was a great idea. I love Ikea & I was hoping that a lot of the furniture I own would be availablein this pack. I was so disappointed! It really is the least of all the stuff packs, there's barely anythingin it & it's all just availablein one colour. And it's not even particularly nice. I'd recommend the Family Fun Stuff or the H&M Stuff instead.
Fantastic game - By: , 14 Sep 2008
This was the first expansion pack we bought, & it's amazing. THe furniture is so stylish, & you get 2 new houses that you can buy as many times as you like! Buy it for sure!
IKEA STUFF! - By: D. Howden, 10 Aug 2008
Let me guess...when you open the box half the bits are missing & you cannot understand the instructions!
Great "stuff" pack for The Sims2 - By: A. Bell, 02 Aug 2008
If you researched on the Sims2 website before hand it shows you a list of most of the itemsin the add-on. The game has great items for around any Sims home, & are likely to nicely fill empty gaps.
-The pack also has the wardrobe I bought from Ikea in!
