A control for the future! - By: K. D. Squire, 25 Sep 2008
If your moving from the PS2 to the PS3 youll notice one big change to the controller, the lack of a cable connecting it to the playstation which is fantastic it cant get tangled or disjodged from the control.
Apart from that the controls only been changedin a minor way, the R2 & L2 sholder triggers are now not encasedin plastic sheild which makes them alot easier to use, the control feels alot more responsive especially with the Sixaxis function. The case is more durable & the buttons themselves are alot easier to depress.
The battery life of the control is also fantastic i think i charge mine up at about once a month & im a hardocre user! It cant get much better to be honest ive not had a problem with the control or the charging system.

I do not own one of these & do not plan to order this either I have found a cheaper white one from a website (Better not post or amazon might not be happy) which i am going to get when i get a ps3 (This month) I am still going to say that it is worthwhile as the sixaxis is not inredibly much cheaper & is pretty inferior. Really should go for this DS3 or import a white one.
Perfect - By: Mr. R. J. Spencer, 14 Aug 2008
I bought an extra controller for my ps3 about a week after I bought my ps3, I decided it would be worth having to make the ps3 more useful & I was really really right.
These controllers are absolutely one hundred percent brilliantin every way. There so light, the charge lasts what seems like forever & their so easy to use. The new system for the front buttons on these controllers is great, it makes them easier to control & much better for light use. The analog buttons are as great if not greater than they were on the old controllers, they feel natural & comfortablein your hand.
The system for using more than one controller on the ps3 is perfect, just press the PS button & you can assign the controller to whichever level you like, 1,2,3 or 4.
Even if you dont play with other people its great to have a second controller so you can always have one on charge while your playing so you never have to play with the controller on a wire.
So, if you like playing games with other people this controller is the oerfect second controller to buy & if your on your own its still great to have the second controller. The price tage seems reasonable to me for the extra fun you can have from this. 35 pounds is not money wasted on something this useful! Get yourself one & you wont regret it!
An old idea? - By: Mr. Philip G. Sorrell, 10 Aug 2008
The PS3 dualshock controller is old news, as i just found out that even the PS1 had sixais, & now sony should be even more worried, because microsoft is also developing a sixais 360 controller! so ps3 controllers arnt so special anymore. =)=)=)!
Such an Improvement! - By: Niall, 05 Aug 2008
I gave myself the choice to buy a Dualshock 3 or a game, & to be honest i was torn between it, i mean c'mon £40 for a control pad that just has the rumble feature added to it!
But i made the choice to get a Dualshock 3 & i admit i was slightly dissapointed with it at first, until i tried playing a game with the Sixaxis again, that is.
There is such a mega difference with funin games with the Dualshock 3, i adore the controller now! i could not play with the Sixaxis ever again!
There a plenty of noticable differences:
It has rumble (obviously)
It is heavier, but not dramitically heavier, it makes the control feel much better & as others say not as cheap.
It has different plastic case, the Sixaxis is all shiny & slippery while the Dualshock 3 has a less shiny case & is much more firm to hold, its a small difference but it makes the control pad a hell of alot better!
The analog sticks are much easier to press in, a little push & it will go in.
The L2 & R2 buttons are slightly more inwards then the Sixaxis & they feel harder to push in, which feels much betterin my opinion.
What can i say about the Dualshock 3? Well i can not play on my PS3 without it now! if you have a choice between a game & a Dualshock 3, absolutely go for the Dualshock, its a small difference but makes the PS3 just that much better to play on!
