Sims 3 - very much worth losing yourself in... - By: KarlRHart, 29 Jul 2010
Basically its a similar situation to the previous game, The Sims 2. The major thing I found was that, even with my old single core pc, it runs really smoothly. In fact, runs smoother than Sims 2. Now bearin mind I'm running just the base game, i.e. none of the expansion packs. Not sure if that makes a difference, but the performance was one thing I was worried about, & didn't buy it for ages. But took the plunge & was very pleased I did.

A cool thing is the fact that the other houses that are availablein the town will gradually be filled by other sims, & they will live, or move out, or movein with each other, or live & work & do all the other things you'd expect, so you don't have to worry about populating the empty lots, new people will come & goin the town. And its optional, you can select the game not to allow the other families to do this, so if you prefer you can have control over your towns population. Also, the lifespan of the sims can be controlled via a slider, so your sims can live for lots of game days, or a shorter span if required. Options like this make a game very versatile, & it helps a lot.

I still play Sims 2, as there are differences between the two games which mean I don't have to leave my Sims 2 behind. They go well side by side.

The downside is gonna be the inevitable numerous expansions which make the game rather expensive when you add them all together. But if the expansions really do add & expand the game, then its gonna be a great investment.

Given the last sims game I played was The Sims Deluxe, this blew my skull open. Butin essence, it hasn't changed much. You still grind away waking your sim up, feeding him, trotting him off to work & eventually going through the irritation of raising a child. Yes, the graphics are much better & there is more of everything, but it's just the same game with a bigger chest & flashier jewelery. If you like the sims you'll go mad for it, but as a game on its own, it's no Portal.

So...
Create a sim is much morein depth & you can add things such as freckles & beauty spots. Traits are the main thing to mention as each trait has a different effect on your sim & you can choose traits such as evil, frugal, loves the outdoors, genius, bookworm & natural cook. Some are good & some are bad & there are endless combinations :)
You play to gain points (which is ultimately why you aim to your sim's lifewish) which you can spendin game on various things to make your sims life easier!
The towns are great, & there are many families set up already for you to choose to play on. Some of the houses are great fun!
Various buildingsin the town can be bought out or you can 'become a partner' for a fee to earn extra income.

Basically, you won't regret buying this, I just don't read great things for the expansion packs... but then who needs them when there is so much to do on this one alone!
Yeah, it's really fun (: - By: thehappyamazoner, 15 Jun 2010
I do actually really like this game, it's really clever & there's so much to do! I don't go on it often, but that's not because it's bad or anything. i found it fun & it loads surprisingly fast, that & lots of other positive stuff :D a good buy, far better that some shooting war game or something! especially as it's so easy to personalise...aah I love it!
Great Game - By: Anita Cranwell, 11 Jun 2010
I bought this for my daughter after she'd played it at a friends house & wanted her own! She has thoroughly enjoyed it! After reading previous reviews it sounded like a safe bet & it hasn't disappointed!
