Do you have to plug this product into the wall, or can it work just from the PS3 on a USB port?

I plug mine into the mains using a USB mains adaptor. There are no flashing lights & gives off a nice blue glow from the light around the base. It sitsin our living room & is not a distraction. We play the PS3 quit a lot & the charger has no problems recharging the controllers. I would recommend this but buy a USB mains adaptor so that the PS3 does not need to be on to charge the controllers.

Nice little stand - By: Graham Bruce, 27 Aug 2008 This dock allows me to store & charge both controllers. I sit it behind my console so it's out the way & the lights don't bother me (You can switch them off there's a button as other's have said) Keeps both of the controlers nice & safe unlike my old PS2's which seemed to leave cables everywere. worth the money.
