midnight club la is the game to get!!! - By: Mrs. J. L. Kemp, 04 Jan 2009
I brought this game from amazon less than a week ago & it is great. I have started my career & the custimization is limitless. My favourite part of it is that you can do up the interior with seats, steering wheels, gauges & neon

The graphics are amazing & there are about 5 different types of views including cockpit which is really cool. I was really impressed by the choices of races & they are colour coded.

It is loads better than midnight club 3 DUB edition, the cars are really cheap & the game just makes you want to go on & play it for ages! The only downside is that the money you get from races is low to start off with but, i have already noticed that it is rising quickly & i'm already getting big money for each race.

Last point, is that when your on cruise, la seems HUGE! I could just go driving on & on & not get bored. This is a great game & should be bought!!! Thanks for reading
I guess rockstar assume that were all pro drivers - By: A. L. Carlsson, 04 Jan 2009
I'm going to keep this short & sweet but still let you know all you need to know. This game looks & plays really nice.....when your just roaming the city, but the second you enter any races (even the easy ones)that is where this game faulters. The difficulty setting on this game is ridiculous!! I completed one of the first races almost flawlessly & i still got beat, my girlfriend had a go after me & ploughed the car into every bit of traffic possible & still only came the same distance behind as i did. I think this game has some sort of adaptive difficulty setting where the harder you drive the more competitive the A.I is. As much fun as just roaming about is, i actually want to complete this game & with its current difficulty level i really cant see that happening infact i'll probably end up trading itin pretty soon. Another point, if you have anger problems i seriously dont recommend this game as every time you clip a car & spin off your pretty much guaranteed to see your opponent go flying past you never to be seen again. argh!!
AMAZING - By: Mr. B. S. Nandra, 31 Dec 2008
Well, i hope you find this useful if your stuck on maybe purchasing this game to nfs undercover of any other game. First off, don't buy this from anywhere else, make sure you buy it from Take 2 Interactive (the sellers profile name) because they sell itin the official case & has the seal of approval on the Xbox CD case. It came, fast, trouble free quality delivery. OK, the review. Please take your time reading, you will find it useful. You open the game, put itin your Xbox & prepare to WAIT FOR IT TO LOAD. Comes up with the loading screen, & you sigh as you think its going to take ages. Untrue. Takes merely about 4 - 7 seconds to load. You press start & the whole city loads up. Your surprised, the details of the camera showing the city is AMAZING. You pick 1 or 3 crappy cars which are a Golf GTI MARK 1, A Nissan 280x (i think) & some other crappy Volkswagen. I recommend you taking the Nissan as it looks the most sporting & when customized looks really nice. You get to the first race. Don't jump straight into the game, take your time learning how to drive, oh, & car repairs ARE 100% FREE WITCH IS HELPFUL. Just go to a petrol station to get a full repair free of charge. Do the first race, win it, carry on, its good man, its good. I cant be bothered to type anymore, so overall, great game, sometimes the easy races are well --- easy. And i love this game so get it. Downloadable content will be available for download next year, which inclues a whole new area on the map. Happy Christmas & a happy new year, this is defo a must have game.

Almost flawless - By: RM, 31 Dec 2008
This game is absolutely STUNNING. The graphics are breathtaking, L.A. never looked so good or realistic. I have read that people think the game becomes too hard but quite honestly I haven't found that to be the case thus far. I have been involvedin 3 police chases & twice I was caught & once I got away, although that was more my fault than the A.I being too intelligent/aggressive.

I love the fact that Rockstar have added an in-car view, which really shows that they have worked hard on every little detail of the game. For me, the in-car view adds a great deal to the experience. The GPS system is amazing & the map is extremely detailed. I wasn't that impressed with MC 3 on the PS2 because the graphics were very mediocre, even by the PS2's standards. Much of the time, I was unable to see the obstructionsin front of me & ended up smacking into a wall. That is no longer an issue due to the crystal clear, near-perfect graphics so well done Rockstar!

The racing is fast & furious & very free-roaming, a lot more so than the Need for Speed games which limit the racing area to several shortcuts but nothing really substantial. In MC:LA, you can literally take ANY route to reach the finishing line, although naturally some routes are less desirable than others.
Customization of cars is superb, with the ability to even change the license plate number & state of the car.
As someone previously mentioned, it is also a nice touch to find that the motorway (or freeway as the Americans would say) is busier or quieter, depending on the time of day. You racein both daylight & at night, adding to the racing experience & giving a more realistic passage of time.

My only 'criticism' of the game (if you can call it that) is that American cars are over-represented. I know, I know, it's an American game but I would have liked to see a bit more balance between American, Japanese & European manufacturers, as evidentin Forza 2, for example.

All I can say is that if you're a fan of free-roaming & racing games, get this game.

SOOOO BAD >> read on for full review. - By: Mr. M. G. Wale, 31 Dec 2008
This game is a joke & should not be allowed to be sold for anything over £10... i love rock-star & have every game they have made, manhunt, gta, psp gta;s & they are all great, even the first 3 midnight clubs are better & heres why::

Gameplay: Absolutely crap, 1/5, the cars all have appalling handling, they all sound the same & the camera angles are rubbish, it is impossible to see & control. Also random civilian cars come flying round corners into you, & if you are winning a race, YOU WILL CRASH AND BE OVERTAKEN!!!!!

Music: 0/5, appaling even for this game, they havent got any recognisable tracks at all. they might as well have used a mobile to record from a radio.

Customizing: 3/5, the only half decent part, you can make cars look awesome, but thats it, the performance upgrades are stupidly hard to unlock & do bugger all.

story mode: 0.1/5, this may be the most pathetic story line ever. he basically walks up & says "im racing cars man", to some other racer guy & thats it. no character development, no reason to race likein need for speed or anything at all.

Overall: 1/5, too many bad points, will drive you crazy after 10 mins. BUY NFS!!!!
