Guitar frustration - By: Jillyc, 11 Aug 2008
This game is really addictive , not easy, but you feel you have to just try again & again & again then when you get a song right you just have to try the next song & so it goes on. Hence the frustration. The songs are good even though I didn't know many off them before I got the game, they grow on you quite quickly. Overall it will keep you busy for quite some time. So well worth the money.
Awesome and addictive - By: T. Biffen, 04 Aug 2008
The game is a lot of fun & awesomely addiciting, tracks are great, graphics are prety good considering its the wii. Online play is killer-very competetive, especiallyin face off mode & since i hooked it up to the internet ive hardly played any of the career or the game offline.
buy it now, you wont regret!
Very annoying - By: Ruth Andrews, 30 Jul 2008
Okay, let me just say I love Guitar Hero III. I love a lot of things about it. I love the series as a whole. But the Wii version seems to be inferior to the others.
You'd think with the Wii's 'revolutionary' motion sensing controller inerted into the guitar, everything you do would happen quicker & as expected? Well no. It doesn't. Sometimes the controller doesn't even register that I'm holding down a note. Now I've tried standing at all distances & angles from the Wii itself, & it makes no difference. I've tried calibrating the lag, but it makes no difference. I find myself getting a low score on a song I can 100% on the Xbox 360 version. Another thing is the Star Power. It just randomly activates itself. I'll be waiting to activate it at a very precise time & then I play normally & it activates itself! Sometimes when I want to activate it, it doesn't do anything at all unless I lift it high above my head & shake it a little bit, by which time I'd have failed the song anyway.
The developers seem to have underestimated the graphical potential of the Wii, as I remember Guitar Hero II on the PS2 looking better than this. Graphics don't really matter, but come on...
Aside from all that, I have little to say that hasn't already been said. Great track list, great battle, & great multiplayer. It's a shame about the controller issues though.
Fantastic fantastic fantastic! - By: Joanna Wigg, 23 Jul 2008
Wow, what an experience it is playing Guitar Hero. I am probably not your average gamer, my usual games are Buzz!, Wii Sport, Brain Training an my DS etc (I am a 45 year old female after all...)but have been tempted after seeing people at work playing it (during lunch time!) so took the plunge 3 days ago & have to say have not stopped playing it since. It probably helps that I don't play a real guitar (tried it but too hard) because it's nothing like it & also having a 20 year old sonin the house who has already finished the 'Easy' stage & so unlocked many of the songs. The tracks on the game are varied & although I didn't recognise very many, I am enjoying the musicin it's own right. It becomes compulsive to try & beat your previous score & so you get to hear the tracks many times-I hope my neighbour likes my efforts!
