I wanted this game for ages, & I finally got it for christmas (my mum managed to order it from ebay)
I couldn't play it much on christmas day, but come boxing day I was well into it.
The object of the game is to solve a mystery of the missing golden applein the 'curious village' but along the way you get asked to solve mini puzzles, I think there is around 130 & most you do not need to solve to get to the end of the game.
I do agree that it is not a long enough game, it took me 4 days to complete. However I wouldn't put the damn game down after starting it!
I think it is a game worth having, but I wouldn't pay silly money to get it. Its worth waiting till the price comes down again. I am eagerly awaiting for Professor Layton 2 & 3, I hope they are just as good!
Great for Puzzle Lovers - By: S. Bailey, 02 Jan 2009 I can say I really enjoyed this game & is one of the only games Ive ever sat & completed, the range of puzzles is brilliant ranging from simple ones to ones that you need to put a little more brain power into. If you love a good puzzle this really is a game for you.
Lots of fun! - By: Mrs. S. R. Wray, 02 Jan 2009 I got this game as a Christmas present, & I've really enjoyed it. I've just reached the end of the story, but there are about 19 puzzles that I missed along the way so I have to go back & find them now. I thought the storyline was good - not all mystical & new-agey like some mystery type games & it was easy & intuitive to move around & talk to people. The puzzles were sometimes pretty challenging & while some I got right away, others took a while, & for two puzzles I gave up & got the solution from a walkthrough. It ends with a 'to be continued...' so I'll be looking out for the sequel. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes adventure games or puzzles.

For those of you who are super clever, you may not see it as a challenge, but I am finding some of the puzzles quite difficult, so for those who want to test your brains ability this is the game for you! I would advise people to be patient & not buy this game at these ridiculous prices on Amazon & Play. i searched for this game for a whole month & FINALLY managed to buy a copy from sainsburys. it was 24.99 & with my fiance's staff discount i got it for 20.77! very nice game, very hard to put down. ive lost hours playing it & still want to pick it up & play more!!

I was given this gave for christmas as completed yesterday (new years day) For the week I was completely addicted!
There are loads of puzzles that all vary from quite easy & obvious to quite rock solid hard!
The range of puzzles are amazing, & I was often passing my console around the room to my family so they could have a go at the taxing ones.
The game is easy to navigate, have great interesting characters & a fun background story.
The only bad thing is that I have now finished the game & my mum has nabbed it to complete herself!
I cannot recommend this game enough!!
