this our 1st experience with a sony psp .. we are all into xbox & xbox 360 or the nintendo wii ..
but we thought we would try something a bit different .. my son's just love them .. they get to play all of the star wars games that you would get on the old black xbox , the graphics are excellent .. my son says its just like a small xbox , except its a sony psp .. he wishes he could play halo on it .. but sony don't do halo .. or halo/bungie don't do sony ..
its simply excellent , we did own a nintendo ds , but we sold that it was to boreing & my son's got bored of it pretty quick , this psp they never put it down ..
all i can say is its excellent & such fun ..

i have owned a psp since launch & i have to say it has been the biggest waste of £180 (launch price).The games are rubbish i have even looked at future releases & see resistance retrubution as the only decent game coming out & it's out next spring.the only good game at the moment is god of war which has no replay value at all.this could easy be the best handheld on the market if sony tried a bit harder,don't waste your cash on this keep it for ps2 or ps3 games.
Out of this world - By: Ravinder Jambula, 14 Jul 2008 The psp slima nd lite's absolutely incredible!. It is atleast 80 g lighter & 19% slimmer, but those are not the only benifits. It has got a much bigger screen(about a centimetre or more big), a brighter screen which is also adjustable & finally, a TV output function.I think this is the best out of all the game consoles & is well worth it.So go on & order one right now.

After one year of owning the Sony PSP console, i have decided to write a review of the portable device.
Firstly, some specifications if you have been on the other side of the gaming world for the past two & a bit years (or been keptin shape by your girlfriend). This is the first portaable games player from Sony, & has UMD, Mp4, Mp3, photos & a web browser built in. It also can be upgraded to include skype, go messenger, & Go! cam. Its certinatley not short of extras, & now can be bought at an affordable price.
However, things start to add up. Memory sticks cost about 30 quid for a decent one, Go cam another 30, case 5, & games are still retailing at 35 pounds for a new one.
But there are many positives. The games are good (generally) with some solid ports & exclusives (Tomb Raider Anniversary, GTA LCS, GTA VCS, god of war, chains of olympus, crysis core) with excelent graphics, & provide many hours of gameplay. Sound quality is good, as is video quality. You can purchase UMD movies (which I advise, as it takes a lot of time & effort to download them, & UMDs are only about 4 pounds a pop) specifically for the PSP. Most new releases are inculded. The web browser, whilst not exactly up to scratch with internet explorer is still a worthwile addition, & can is great for checking facebook, emails, & checking your ebay purchases.
Cons?
Well, games are certinatley not as abundant as they used to be, with a fair amount of **** being produced. Battery life is dooable, but slightly short. Online play is brilliant, but not as simple as it sounds. You have to create accounts online, have them verified through your email, etc. Not many inventive games, Buttons feel cheap & lack of second analogue stick.
However, as portable devises go, the gaming alone is enough to warrant at least £80. The addition of internet, MP3 & 4 really do make it a worthwile purchase.
