Dissapointing - By: Jay D., 07 Sep 2008
Need for Speed: ProStreet (PSP)
I found this game very disappointing, having just came from most wanted, I thought that, being the sequel's sequel, it would be two steps better.
WRONG!
The game play is boring, & it has no bodykit or spoiler customisation. The tuned cars you see on the back of the box are pre-tuned cars that you only get on the last 4 racetracks. The only visual customisation that you have is rims, window decals, & paint, & that is basically all the customisation I can remember.
The reason I can't remember is because I spend my time re-completing Most Wanted (which you can get for a fiverin good used condition) & is not around four times worse, as the price would suggest, but three times better.
In other words, if you are thinking of buying this game on PsP, DON'T!!
Sorry if I'm going on a bit, but it's hard to sum up all the bad thingsin one sentence, but I can give you a general idea...
This game is completely rubbish on Psp!!
Why bother making this game! - By: Mr. N. Birtwistle, 07 Jun 2008
This game is total amateur! Rubbish modeling of cars!'But oh wait the cars using NOS to go super fast' no it isn't it looks like the cars slowing down the graphics are that bad. It makes the race seem really boring! Need for speed normally good but this game OH DEAR!
Not Bad ! - By: Gary Digby, 29 Apr 2008
The Good: There's a great selection of cars to choose from, Muscle (Dodge charger/ challenger, Shelby 500 & new concept 500) Super cars like your Lambs & Ford Gt & Even the Zonda to my surpise. The Graphics are relly good but the console cant keep upin places & it lags quite a bit. Maybe its Because the Fat PSP only has half the memory.
Outside of the game, there's too much use of basic colours & doesnt look that great. Theres a good selection of Music on it as like most NFS games.
My Bads: Its not your normal meyham round the streets, its race track all the way. Some levels are quite fun but most are pretty dull. I dont get frustrated with games but with this i do, Alot. You go slightly off the road (onto the grass) & your speed reduces drasticly, & even when Powering NOS it still takes alot of speed off. Also, if you scrape a barrer on a corner, the car sticks to it & wont move off it unless using loads of breaking, resultingin your car damaged & traction pushes you to one side for the rest of the race. The damage is good because its more relistic, its bad because one slightly fast corner & you have to deal with the car for the rest of the rage.
Some races take lots of attempts to complete, I must admit I do like a challenge but sometimes its too much.
Overall, A quite good game but If i had the choice to buy this or Carbon, I think id go with carbon. There is no story linein Pro Street, this doesnt bother me because i usaully dont care for the story & just wana play.
Not that great of a game... - By: Nikolaos Giannakakis, 11 Apr 2008
The Need for Speed Pro Street may be a game with good graphics, however, it is very easy to lose interestin the game because there is no storyline. In relation to the older need for speed (Need for Speed: Underground 2), this game cannot even compare. So would NOT recommend it...
Very Nice... - By: Mr. R. Thompson-Clarke, 25 Mar 2008
I have been a follower of the Need for Speed series ever since Hot Pursuit. One after another they came out & impressed me with amazing graphics, challenging & fun gameplay, & new features to keep me looking forward to the next. This game was no exception.
Ever since I bought a PSP I have used it more & more & my other consoles less & less so it made sense to me to buy the new NFS on PSP. I loved it as soon as I started playing, it was challenging, fun & my first session was about 3 hours because I just couldn't put it down. The gameplay is constantly different depending on your placein the game, sometimes you will be racing for the highest speed & other times you'll be racing round a very twisty course just struggling to stay on the track. And there are different levels of difficulty allowing less experienced racers to get into the flow just as easily. The learning curve was however quite sharp to start with as only the first 3 races allowed you to use the lowest level of difficulty, this meant my little sister was stuck after the first level (she didn't like the game much anyway).
Graphics were excellent although at start of the races the screen seemed slightly blurry around the edges, this becomes less notciable however once you start concentrating on the race. The music was very good & it featured a wide range of genres to satisfy everybody. One problem I did have though was that even though there were lots of music tracks, there was one track that had amount 5 remixes & it kept playing more often than I would have liked, this however was easily fixed with just a fiddle of the settings.
Online play is my favourite part, you get to race somebody from anywherein the world whenever you want seeing as there is always someone online.
Overall a very nice game & thouroughly enjoyable, it was just the one or two little things that stopped me from loving it as much as some of the previous games. I would reccomend this very strongly but just because you get this don't ignore some of the previous titles, they are just as good.
