Brillant game - By: Mr. C. J. Lewis, 02 Mar 2010
Where to begin with this game.
1st of all it is a great stress reliever. After a hard dayin work there is nothing better than murdering some nasty people with various items &in many different ways.........
2nd there are some good puzzles to get those grey cells working
3rd its great fun, but not for all the family. (especially when you find a plastic bag & sneak up on some unsuspecting soul......)
4th some ingenious uses of random objects to great affect.
The only down side to this game is that it can be completed easilyin 1 sitting as it is not the longest game. But you'll want to go back & try some of the levels again & try out the weapons you missed the 1st time.

What a game, what a very brutal game!
This has to be be one of the best gaming experiences on the Wii. Great story, brilliant controls, impressive visuals & a excellent audio.
I remember playing the first one on my PC & it was a good game. In the first one the executions became a bit repetitive & when you got the range weapons (Handguns/Rifles) most people don't bother with the executions any more. Which is a shame as that's what separated this from all the other third person shooters out there. Manhunt 2 changes this by mixing up the weapons throughout the game. giving you ranged weapons one episode then taking them off you the next, making you have to use stealth & executions. Also the addition of executions you can do with the ranged weapons (that would make a mafia crimelord blush) is a great touch.
The graphical style of the game is a perfect match as well. The slightly fuzzy feel as if your watching through a camera is a lovely touch & goes very well with the atmosphere. The filter on the executionsin my opinion doesn't take away from the game, it adds to it. It makes what you can see, seem more gruesome & the sound effects don't leave much to the imagination anyway.
The voice acting is brilliant, making the whole story believable. Also when a hunter spots you you really do feel fear as you leg it for cover. The music & sound effects are second to none, making the production of the game feel like a hollywood movie.
The game itself will last you a while & it does prove quite challenging at times but never seems impossible. When you do complete the game you get an additional chapter with an alternative ending which is a very nice touch.
Allin all I really enjoyed this game. It is gory but (although it sounds mad) it isn't needless violence & the guys who get it aren't very nice people anyway. If you like adult games & like a challenge this is a game you'll enjoy.
VERY mediocre. - By: Gaston Stabiszewski, 26 Mar 2009
Well... this was really just okay, if even.
All I can say is that you should really consider the price before buying. And to be honest... a rent might suffice. There are waaaay better games out there. But after all, if you own a Wii & want a game that isn't all humpty dumpty (which was the reason I got this) you can give it a go.
I gotta say though... the graphics are stunningly bad. And WHY THE HELL did they have to censor it this much?! Without all the graphic violence this game is even less interesting, as crazy as saying that makes me.
A TRIUMPH OF ARBITRARY, IDIOTIC, CENSORSHIP - By: Haunted Nostril, 02 Mar 2009
The first manhunt game was far from being a complete masterpiece, but as far as treating adults like adults, & giving them some entertainment aimed directly at their demographic, it was a triumph. From the 70's style, nasty, low-budget, droning, synth sounds to the grainy, video nasty, VHS filters that sporadically clouded the screen so effectively & right down to the seedy underworld scenarios & warriors-esque, themed, street gangs: Finally gaming had reached beyond silly sprays of chunky, Mortal Kombat, blood to real adult entertainment. So naturally we all waited with bated breathin anticipation of the next installment. But something unfortunate happened between Manhunt & Manhunt 2, the censors lost, first their minds then, their spines.
I recently watched a comparison online of uncensored footage from this game & the kills from the original manhunt (Don't know why they haven't torn that video down already) & I have to say that the original was much, much nastier than this, & not justin the gore stakes but alsoin the realism of the story & overall characterisation. Fair enough the game has gone from serious nastiness to fantastical story telling & cartoonish schlock but therein lies my point - why cut this game & not the first? It's ridiculous hand holding nonsense like this that tells me I can't play what I want to, I am not free to indulgein something darker from time to time, which is just insulting & infuriating & we are being treated like idiots.
There are a few people on here saying that the headache inducing red blur that smears the screen every time I dispatch some very bad people doesn't take away from the game, & even adds some style: I'm sorry but there is enough stylein here without this gaming equivalent of banging your head on a wall destroying your enjoyment. Secondly sometimes you can see a bit of the kills but the very fact that they are obscured is the total ruination of the entire point of waving your pads around like a fool, & destroys the payoff you get from spending your time hunting the hunters.
What this all boils down to is as follows: when you see imbeciles buying their screeching brats games like Grand Theft Auto & this, because their friends have got it & they're moaning, & these buffoons actually see what their kids are playing, instead of blaming themselves for not reading up on the game before they dumped their kidsin front of it, they blame the makers of the games & thus this backwards censorship grows & gets out of control like a cancer, ruining everyone else's enjoyment. Two perfect examples of this madness can be seen on the Sim Animals page here on Amazon, two feckless parents blaming the game & not their bad judgment are featured right there & it's clueless people like them, & the pathetic old men running the BBFC, that are telling us what we can & can't watch & how we are allowed to entertain ourselves. It's ridiculous but they're getting there own way, & if this hollow shell of a game doesn't prove it then perhaps the banning of Natural Born Killers & Childs play backin the day may spring to mind & remind you why these people have to be stopped. Games do not make people do bad things, but these censors are making me want to. Everyone who bought this game,in hope that the cuts may not have been that bad, should receive the game as it was intended, coupled with a letter of apology, & be reimbursed from the pockets of these complete morons.
As far as the game goes, it's mediocre, not a patch on the viceral orignal (mostly down to the problems 'hinted at' above), & has AI that makes my cat look like a member of MENSA, but that's not the point now is it.
Fun without the polish!!! - By: decoded, 01 Dec 2008
Manhunt 2 was always going to be controversial & after playing the first one wondered how this would follow up. Thankfully the game is still funin a sick sort of way & doesn't disappoint too much.
The idea of the game is to try & escape different areas without being caught by the other gangs. To avoid detection you have to move quietly & lurkin the many shadows & then take the bad guys out one by one.
The executionsin the game have been heavily censored now, so all you get is a blury red smudge on the screen as you murder your victimin a violent manner. This doesn't really spoil the game &in a way makes it more stylish.
Graphically, the game doesn't look amazing but does have some nice atmospheric locations. Lights flickerin seedy nightclubs & hospitals & light shines through broken roofsin old lofts. All though the effects aren't amazing, it does fitin with the locations perfectly.
The frame-rate is fairly steady, but does dip now & then creating small stuttersin the gameplay.
The sound is amazing & also very atmospheric. Police sirens can be heardin the distance, dogs barking & people screaming.. very unearving!
Controls aren't amazing, but do work. The nunchuck & wiimote can be swungin different directions to cause different attacks & seem ok most of the time, but can feel unresponsive occasionally.
So overal, the game is far from perfect, but VERY fun for adults looking for a more mature game for the Wii. The price is very reasonable now, so buy it before it gets banned again!!
