Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles - By: Jørgen Mikkel Bals, 15 Apr 2010
This game..
I had heard a lot of good things about this game. And frankly, I wasn't disappointed. You go through the chronicles of Resident Evil (Yes, the games). Butin a railshooter, & it's a concept that works! And it's extra fun with another player. And there are side-stories that are extra challenging. You'll be pulling your hair out, but when you finally do beat them, the sigh of relief will feel all the better.
The controls are simple & precise, & allin all it's great fun.
An ode to zombies - By: Jackie Coupe, 25 Jan 2010
Say what you like about shooters this one is different. Love it or hate it Resident Evil has been around for over a decade & with good reason. It delivers on chills, spills & gore galore.
This game is a bit like coming home, you enter the mansion, (rendered beautifullyin this installment), that you werein on the very first Res game. I wasin seventh heaven! The graphics being far superior it really was an experiencein deja-vu. I must admit, when I first played Dead Aim all those years ago I felt a little bit cheated by the shoot-em-up way they had handled Res. As time went on I grew to enjoy it for a different reason than the conventional Res games. The variety of fire power & the awesome enemies make this very playable & re-playable. On the first run through when you have pants weapons & you get killed a fair bit it really is sweet justice to go back when you have a grenade launcher & waste those undead ghoulies!
Well enjoyed :)
Could have been perfect..but failed ! - By: I. BAKER, 10 Jan 2010
I'll keep it fairly short & to the point....a potentially great game made annoying by over excessive accuracy requirements & annoying bosses. Unless you can aim with pinpoint accuracy, at speed, then you ain't gonna get far without throwing the controllers across the room. Even when set to EASY, I couldn't see any obvious difference from NORMAL. No obvious way to calibrate the cross-hairs, so you get what you're given. Also a pain,is that whilst shooting & trying to aim, you have to press the "A" or "b" buttons, or shake the controller to carry out other actions(i.e escape attack, duck etc..)..all very confusing whenin the heat of battle. The nunchuck gives you some ability to look around a room, but as this is a rails game, you are very limited, and practically pointless I.M.H.O. The other buttons on the nunchuck serve to swap weapons & aim handgranades.
Personally, a gun(and calibration function) would have made aiming easier.Had some of the "annoying" function been removed, then this would have been a great gun/single Wii controller game...but it wasn't.
maybe it's just because it's a rail-shooter, but... - By: Ms. S. L. Barton, 06 Dec 2009
Maybe it's just because it's a rail-shooter but i didn't like this game as much as i thought i would.
the graphics are brilliant...voice acting sucks though- i love the character of rebecca but the person doing her voice sounds far too girlie & wimpy. the RE0 voice was the best, even REremake is better than RE:UC.
Rail-shooters won't let you back away so you end up getting hit by things you would have been able to avoid if you werein control. i don't like being pulled around by a CPU, it's much scarier when you do it yourself.
Get RE:0 & RE:1 remake, those are the BEST!
After Resident Evil 4.............. - By: Mr. S. J. Morawiec, 01 Oct 2009
I purchase dthis item after completing Resident Evil 4. It is obviously a much older package & as such is somewhat utdated now. I gave upin the end after a very short time. I am sure that it is good, or moreover was good, but things have moved on & it was very evident that this was a relatively early wii game.
If you haven't tried RE4 then it may represent good value for some, but for me I just felt that it was not worth the effort to play it.
