why do i bother - By: Carl, 22 Dec 2008
at first i thought this game would be traded-in as soon as i could be bothered to use my arthiritic legs & travel to some rip-off merchant shop, blockbustersin english, where i would get £3 for a game that cost me £12.50 just the day before, from the very same shop would you beleive.

killing enemies, that just respawn, over & over until you cant be bothered anymore, does that sound entertaining?, no.

before i could make up an excuse to take this game back & try & get a refund, the game started playing up, i prayed to god that it wouldnt take my precious 25hour a day stranglehold sessions away from me, but it did, i had to take the game back, but they gave me another one, i said no id like my £12.50 back so i can buy some real entertainment, involving a hammer, some nails, & my eyelids.

so i was stuck with a second copy of this quality game, its never been played, it just sits there, silently, sometimes at night i can swear i hear it, crying, begging to be played.

so buy it, but if you want a decent shoot-em-up style game then buy my little pony instead, as that game made me soil myself with excitement & the vast array of weaponary led to me salivating at the mouth.
Childish Fun - By: I. D. Clarke, 03 Mar 2008
This game has all sorts of problems. The graphics aren't special & Tequilas animations are laughable. The dumb thing is - & i know it sounds crazy - these make the game.

It's not even a difficult game. You leap, run, dive & bullet-time your way through Stranglehold & tread on a healthpack with everystep. But again, thats the charm. The game is so one dimensioned save for four special moves, including one where Tequila will more or less gun down everyonein the room without even having aim.

No innovation, barely mentionable story, one dimensional gameplay. Whats to like about this game you ask? Simple fun. You go from level to level just gunning down badguysin a few different ways, but i love it.

On a slighly more serious note the destructible environments did impress me.

Don't buy this game expecting the next big thingin Third Person Shooter innovation or graphics. Do expect a few good laughs & just a fun game to play. Stranglehold wasn't even on my radar of games to buy, but i'm glad i did.
Hard Boiled The Game - By: C. Lister, 29 Feb 2008
You take control of Inspector Yuen who battles the mob when his daughter & his ex is kidnapped by them.

The game looks good & Chow Yun Fat looks like Chow Yun Fat. It was also a nice touch that they got the actors from Hard Boiled to lend there voices to this follow-up from the film. Controls handle wellin this game & I didn't find any problems with them.

You have skillsin this game called "Tequila Bombs" which can be used for healing, precise shots, fast shots, & killing everyonein view make this game too easy especially on boss fights, four precise shots to the head & the boss is dead.

Although this game starts off well it soon becomes repetive & you feel like your doing the samething over & over again just on different map. I would like to comment on the online play but I could never get a match going because theres no one there to play with.

John Woo & Chow Yun Fat fans should borrow/rent this title because its quite short, it took me only seven hours to complete on hard mode.
Mad, Bad and Dangerous! - By: Captain Cheese Stick, 22 Feb 2008
Bought this on back of the excellent demo & overall I really enjoy this game. It has its faults, crazy AI & a fair bit of repetition for starters but if you don't take it too seriously you'll have a real blast & plenty of laughs. Some of the move / shoot combos you can pull off are mad. Anyway, give the demo a go first & see for yourself.
Excellent, but nothing new - By: Finisher, 29 Jan 2008
I downloaded the demo of this game. It's a person-shooter game. I like it but I have lots of PS2 games that are very similar to Stranglehold, but obviously the graphicsin this are much better.

The things that I like best about this game is shooting peoplein slow-motion & also shooting them with precision aim, which I find hilarious!

Anyway, I love this game but could have been better if it just had a teensy drop of differencein it.

So, would I buy it? I would only buy it if I can find it cheaper somewhere, likein GAME - it is £30 there.
