Good, but not 5 star - By: Mirza S. Hussain, 16 Oct 2008
I got this game with my PS3 40GB, & I thought it was astonishing. The graphics were really good, the cars were fast(after you unlocked them), the tracks were numerous, good looking, & fun. It was a big jump from my PS2 Pro Street. However; after a while, the cars started to look a bit plasticky, & when the cars crashed into a wall or another car, they didn't break, but stayed exactly the same. I thought this for thirty pounds was good, but I thought that the PS3 had more potential. I tried a few other racing games, such as Race Driver Grid, & they were awesome. The graphics looked better, & more realisticin Grid, & really crashed when I crashed. This game is now reduced to £18 pounds, but if you're looking for a really good car racing game for your PS3, get Grid, or wait for Midnight Club:Los Angeles to come out. All I gotta say is that this game is good for 18 quid, but it has more potential.
Hoped this helped.
A good sign of whats to come, - By: B. Scott, 13 Oct 2008
Grand Turismo 5 Prologue is a fantastic game, there is a large range of cars compared to most racing games (about 70 or so) & the best graphics i have ever seenin a racing game. The gameplay is also brilliant, car handling is hugely acurate, not the kind of game where you can constantly push everything to the max & still stick rightin the middle of the track, but its certainly not gone too far, if makes you careful as you cruise around tracks, & makes sure you dont rush round ever corner sliding into walls. thers a real sence of acheivement when you finaly gain enough credits to get that new car too, & with the ferrari F2007 & the Citroen GTin there already thats a lot of saving to do.
the game is constantly updatedin order to bring you extra content, & has so far added a huge amount including: split-screen, GT-TV, & fantastic extra cars. the next update is rumored to include an optional damage setting for vehicals, which will no doubt be incredible.
For £18 a cannot recomend GT5:P more, it will keep you entertained for a long time, & then when you've forgotten updates will drag you back in. i got this game soon after it came out & got fed up with it after a shot while but due to more updates i have got back into it & enjoy it very much. However i can say that some of the difficulty is quite extreme, with some standout hard challenges which require specific cars.
overall i would recomend this game to anybody with a PS3 who enjoys good racing games, its not exactly a huge spend & it well worth your time of day. If needs be you can even download it straight to your console, if you've got the hard drive space!
A Work in Progress - By: Mr. M. R. Fluck, 08 Oct 2008
Gran Turismo 5 is certainly a well made game, but there are still a lot of features that need improving. In particular, anyone who has raced online will know that the collision rules need changing. The driver who rams another car off the track gets no time penalty, while the injured party does! Perhaps, if the cars were designed to be wreckable, the extra care & attention would make this more realistic, as well as enjoyable.
Great! - By: Aidan Reid, 03 Oct 2008
If it wasn't for the games astonishing realism & pure gameplay, i would probably already give this 5 stars just for graphics! A number of times while playing this game, a member of the family has said, 'which race you watching?' before noticing the control pad!
There is no better value for money out therein the console world at the moment, a highly reccommend!!
Pants - By: Ben, 01 Oct 2008
Big smelly pants.
Realism has robbed this game of fun. Perhaps it's more of a game when you level it up to the supercars. But I'll never find out: I couldn't race titchy hatchbacks round the same five boring tracks without wanting to cry.
