Amazingly squeaky and now in the bin - By: Mr. M. M. Musselle, 10 Nov 2008
When the parcel arrived I ran around the village twice totally involuntarily - great delivery. Very squeaky analogue stick after owning the product for under a month & using it rarely. So annoying that I had to smash it into tiny pieces & now lies peacefully squeaking no morein my wicker basket bin. Will be ordering a second time & KEEPING the packaging so I can send it back when the new one starts squeaking. Don't buy twice, buy once & keep your packaging (which is impossible not to ruin when you open it because it is heat crimped shut).
Get Pinnacle Game Profiler! - By: James Schlesinger, 07 Nov 2008
I always found the Playstation controller easier, until my hands got too big. Preferred PC games but the easy of console gaming was too much to ignore. Was a PS2 user for its lifespan, then "High Definition" gaming happened. Was unsure which to go for xbox360 or the PS3... both of which turn out to be happy with HD Ready/720p graphics, I am not.
Found the perfect solution, custom built(by me) gaming PC, with the ease & comfort of the Xbox360 controller.
One problem, joysticks & PC games never got on. And there is limited support for this controller with PC games, of the many games I own only Crysis has builtin support for it.
To use the xbox360 controller with your other games i recommend purchasing the profiler. You get a trial period, & if you decide to buy there is fantastic support for a lot of other games. Profiles are made by Pinnacle themselves or by other gamers, or you can customise & create your own.
Costs about £12.
Am now happily enjoying STALKER, FEAR, The Witcher & Oblivion without the fear of hitting the Windows button.
Good but not great - By: Micky, 20 Oct 2008
The good stuff:
This is really well made bit of kit.
Its dead comfortable
analog stick & triggers are nice & responsive
Downside:
The supplied drivers are awful (can be sorted using XBCD drivers)
I don't think much to the d-pad
Its a good solid pad, but I still like the old xbox Controller S pad more
A great piece of kit! - By: Mr. W. J. Vallance, 18 Oct 2008
I must say I went for the more pricey wireless version of the controller, but they're essentially the same product. It's fantastically designed with excellent build quality. I also give credit for the fact that it's slightly weighty which goes down well when playing games, because it feels very robust.
I'm cursed with massive hands, & despite the compactness of the thing, it fits beautifully into my palms, & my ability to engulf it makes operating the thumb sticks feel much more sturdy. It's so tactile & you feel that you are playing with a very high quality device, yet at the same time it manages to slip from existence when you are fully immersedin game play.
I am certain that you will not regret purchasing this controller, as it makes the perfect companion for any PC gamer!
Instantly supported - By: Mr. John G. Roscoe, 21 Sep 2008
The controller itself is very good, a far better fit for my hands than Playstation's design, & the analogue sticks are better because the bowl shape cups your thumbtips. However, I prefer the shoulder buttons on the PS3 controller & the D-pad on this one is near-useless.
It's the best choice for a modern PC gamer though, due to its instant compatibility with any Games for Windows branded game, & the third-party software "xpadder" makes it easy to get it working for any other game too, making it as close to the definition of 'plug & play' as any controller.
The vibration feature is also strong & an excellent inclusion for the price you pay. For games like Devil May Cry 4 & classics such as Beyond Good & Evil (or a Playstation/N64 emulator if you're being a bit naughty), this pad is invaluable.
