An awesome RPG - By: Fj Harrison, 29 Sep 2007
The ogrinial Pokemon was groundbreaking, this-i would to say "stands up there with Blue & Yellow"-but it doesn't, its worse but still an ace game! My much beloved team are: Koroge (lvl 56), Riakou (lvl 56), Entai (lvl 55), Swampert (lvl 100), Rayquaza (lvl 100), Tyranitar (lvl 63). And i have a soft spot for this game becalse this is THE game that got me to the no.2 pokemon trainerin the whole of England! This game is slow paced at the beggining (with only lvl 5-10 Pokemon around) but it REALLY hots up when you have to fight Wally! Loved this game, i small gem.
A GBA masterpiece - By: John Campbell, 19 Apr 2007

Pokemon Sapphire is a brilliant game. Great graphics, great story, great new pokemon, great new features! This game is my top GBA game as it is a pokemon game. You dont need cutting edge action scenes for a beautiful game, you just need a good storyline & good creations. The new starter pokemon aren't as good as the previous ones. I recommend mudkip for your first.
I have had this game for nearly 4 years now & I still hum & whistle the fantastic music, the best out of all games. You should play this game on a DS with the backlit screens & you will LOVE the colour!

I love all RPGs games & this is up with the best of them.

Improved graphics but ordinary (boring) gameplay - By: Jasper Wong, 29 Mar 2005
Pokemon Ruby/saphire is just another pokemon game for the Gameboy advance: it has the same overhead view as all the other pokemon games, basically the same battle format with a slight addition of using two pokemon to battle (the screen zoomsin & shows you your pokemons levels, attacks, health, & how he looks & an choice to change pokemon to one with a better chance of winning. The screen beside the opponent pokemon shows his level & health), basically the same storyline, the same way to catch pokemon (with a pokeball) & the same kind of moves with a around 20 new ones & the same amount of gyms (eight)as pokemon yellow/blue/red. The was 16in Silver/gold/crystal but for some reason the amount of gyms went back down to 8. The elite four is still rather lame: even if you beat them many times & are training your level 90 pokemon on them, they still say the same thing & still taunt you even though you are the strongest pokemon trainerin the WORLD!

If you are a die-hard pokemon fan Pokemon Saphire is a must-buy, along with Pokemon Ruby. if you are not a die-hard pokemon fan, however, you should start at pokemon silver or gold. If you gave up pokemon some time ago & are thinking about starting to play it again, go ahead & buy ruby, or saphire but not both of them as there is a big chance that you will be fed up with pokemon again.

Pokemon Ruby/saphire (the two are sister games, the only difference between the two is that you can catch pokemonin ruby that are not availiablein Saphire: same the other way around) has improved graphics over Pokemon blue/red/yellow & pokemon silver/gold/crystal. The fact that you can choose to be a boy or a girl is helpful, especially if you don't want to choose a character that is a different gender than you! The battles are more colourful, & the attacks are more realistic & sometimes 3d, unlike the original 2d uncolourful graphics. If you want good graphicsin a pokemon game for the Nintendo game boy advance or game boy advanced SP, then pokemon ruby/saphire is a good addition to your games.

However, if you want a game with less colourful or basic graphics but a great storyline & a huge world to explore get Pokemon Silver/gold/crystal. The three games are only for the Gameboy colour so the graphics are less stunning & more basic.

Overall, Pokemon Ruby/Saphire has some nice additions but the storyline is still the same, & still as boring.
